The Dania Eye Center has been a part of the community for over 40 years. Originally founded by Dr. Benjamin Brumberg, he teamed up with Dr. Robert Jacobs, Gary Jacobs and Chris Jacobs in the 1980's. Their dedication and commitment to excellence helped build an optometry practice of the highest caliber.

Since 1989 Gary and Chris have been managing the office and ensuring that the optical and lab provide unparalleled products and services to our patients.  They are the friendly and familiar faces bring patients into the office and keep them coming back.  Their vision and experience have created a truly unique practice that, while as modern and up to date as the most advanced offices, still offers the warmth and friendly service of a small town practice.

Dr. Keri M. Pomella

Dr. Keri Pomella has been a leading practitioner, Managing Partner and
Clinic Director in the field of Optometry during a diverse career of over eighteen years and has been President and a Staff Optometrist at Advanced Eye Care of Hialeah for the past nine years. Keri graduated from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry with a Doctorate in Optometry and completed a hospital-based Ocular Disease Residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.
Keri began her professional career as a Primary Care Optometrist and Extern Director for Dr. Stern’s Visual Health Center in Miami and concurrently worked at CAC Medical Center, also in Miami, as a Staff Optometrist for  three years. In 2000 she joined the Borinquen Eye Clinic and served as Clinic Director for the next five-plus years. Subsequently, she became President of Advanced Eye Care of Hialeah in 2005, where she also functions as a Staff Optometrist. During her current tenure at Advanced Eye Care, she also became a Managing Partner and Staff Optometrist at Midtown Eye Care in Miami in 2007 which is now Dania Eye Care. She concurrently serves at both centers to this day.

Keri is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, is actively involved in the Florida Optometric Association and has been President of the Dade County Optometric Association on two separate occasions.

Keri Marie Pomella was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Lakeland in central Florida when she was 12, where she completed her secondary education. After earning her Associate of Arts Degree at Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Florida, Keri decided to pursue a career in Optometry and moved to Miami to begin her studies at Nova Southeastern University in 1992. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Arts in 1994 and, as previously noted, earned a graduate Degree in Optometry in 1996. 

Keri loves to travel. Her many trips throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada have given her a multicultural perspective. She particularly enjoys camping, hiking and trekking, and has extensive high altitude experience trekking throughout Nepal, India and Tibet. In fact, she has trekked to both sides of Mount Everest Base Camp in Tibet and Nepal, as well as Mount McKinley in Alaska, and Twin Sisters and Longs Peak in Estes Park, Colorado.

Keri is also committed to her exercise regime which includes running, walking, weight training, yoga and Pilates. Her other interests and pastimes include reading classic literature, contemporary fiction and nonfiction, and she is fascinated by the field of Genealogy, having researched her family history back to the 1600s. 

Brad Peltzer, O.D.

Dr. Brad Peltzer has been a leader in the field of Optometry for over twenty years and has served as Vice President and Staff Optometrist at Advanced Eye Care of Hialeah for the past ten years as well as President of Midtown Eye Care, now Dania Eye Care, for the past 8 years.   After graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry Degree, Brad began a one-year hospital-based Ocular Disease Residency at West Side VA Medical Center in Chicago.

Upon completion of his Residency, Brad relocated to South Florida and joined the Broward Family Eye Center of Nova Southeastern University as Clinic Director, spending the next five years. Subsequently, he became a Staff Consultative Optometrist as well as the Residency and Externship Director at Aran Eye Associates in Miami, where he served for the next ten years. During the last five years of his tenure at Aran, he also joined The Laser Center of Coral Gables as a Staff Consultative Optometrist in Refractive Surgery. He also began his affiliation with Advanced Eye Care of Hialeah as Vice President and Staff Optometrist in 2004, during his last three years at Aran, which he left in 2007. He continues to serve at Advanced Eye Care to this day, while concurrently serving as Clinic Director of Midtown Eye Care in Miami since 2007. Midtown Eye Care has now merged with the prestigious Dania Eye Center in Dania Beach, FL.

Brad is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and has a Certificate of Residency in Hospital Based Optometry. He has been a lifelong member of the American and Florida Optometric Associations, has lectured at numerous continuing education seminars and has been an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, New England College of Optometry, Ohio State University, State University of NY, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. 

Brad was born in Minnesota and grew up in a small farming town 25 miles north of Minneapolis, where most of his family still lives to this day. He attended the University of Minnesota and earned a Degree in Biology and Chemistry before leaving for Houston to study for his Doctorate in Optometry. He has had a lifelong interest in music, downhill and cross country skiing, wilderness hiking and has done backwoods camping in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota/Canada, the Upper Peninsula Of Michigan, California, Arizona, and New Mexico as well as in the Patagonia region of southern Chile. Brad spends much of his free time today in soccer related activities with his son with whom he also frequently attends a diverse variety of concerts ranging from classic rock and blues, to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Festivals.  Brad is an avid reader and collects antique and first edition classic books.  Other interests include comparative religion, history, and cosmology.
